Michael Drieborg is a young man living on a farm near Lowell, Michigan. He saves a young boy from being abused by the son of the town's banker. He is arrested for assault and sentenced to prison or to enlistment in the Union army. He picks the army. This incidence follows him throughout the Civil War and shapes his future. At times Michael seems to be too good to be true but it is refreshing to read a story of a person of this type rather than the ones with clay feet. Written by a Michigan author and the first of a three part series.

Jamil Al-Rattian, onun geleneği gibi, kitap güzel .. ve çok sıradan olduğu ayrı bir makale! Bu bana hitap etmedi ... toplumun bazı fenomenleri için titremelerin eleştirisi ve sanki bununla ilgilenmemiş gibi, onlardan kurtulmak, bu beni ideal hissettiriyor. Görüyorum ki "Kitab" biraz daha güzeldi ... çünkü iki kitap aynı alanda!
