I had low expectations going into this one -- not a big Joe Hill fan (after Heart Shaped Box). But, I loved this. A great story for horror fans.
Another childhood favorite for many. Corduroy is a character many can relate too. Often times we feel like we are not good enough. Corduroy shares these emotions, which can benefit children in need of getting lost in a character struggling with their emotions. Feeling less than perfect is something everyone has to work through. Corduroy discovers that someone loves him with his imperfections, giving students hope that they too do not need to meet perfection standards. The story of Corduroy is also I wonderful way to incorporate writing. Similar to Corduroy's adventure through the department store students can write about an adventure, either real or fake, and map out their adventure to demonstrate knowledge of what they are writing.
