This might be one of the best Holocaust books I have read. A true account of the author as a 13 year old from Hungary sent to Auschwitz and then Dachau. Violent, haunting, grisly, hopeful, brave, and astonishing. A lump in your throat, tears rolling down your cheeks account that makes you count your blessings. Thank you Mrs. Hancock and 6th grade for recommending this life changing book.

Oh for the love of the Virgin in the Fade! Please.stop.the.brand.name.dropping! Please. No, really. Please. That is all. Carry on.

Another delightful David Lodge book. The paradise of the title is two-fold: the tropical, Hawaiian variety, and the kind where you get to meet the man upstairs. I think I’ve run out of ways to express how Lodge is such a funny, interesting, dynamic writer. If you like books containing academic humor or featuring somewhat sorry smart people, you should just read him. This book is a nice stand-alone; I can’t decide if it’s a better entry point to his work than Changing Places or not. Oh, whatever. Just read both.

** spoiler alert ** This book has a lot of Action and adventure and I recommend it for anyone. I loved how the characters are so realistic and how you could really imagine the characters like people you know. My favorite part was when Katniss found out that the mutts. were her dead tributes. I also loved the part where Rue was about to die and she asked Katniss to sing her a song. Every page had my eyes glued on it. I loved this book and I hope you do to. Enjoy.
