Well, I don't know... I feel like very damn tired reading this book. It contains plain filler swearing and Spanish phrases, which I don't understand and only with my "superstitious qualification" can guess the real meaning of such words (hail, praise the 'tundila' of Ganesha!). Two stars, for I found this book is somehow "funny". It wraps the dark (hi)story of Dominican immigrant who made their journey to the states during the period of DR dictator. Packing individual (if I can't say descendant) 'fuku' - torment of generations, with slang words concealing the painfulness and acrimony felt by the characters within. Funny. Read it and summon your talent of language supposition! haha... * Since I can't bear my exhaustion of reading this book with my 'superstitious' ability, I vary with another understandable-easy-to-read book instead. (I read this book as an intermission)
"Which of the following phrases most typifies the profoundest love: A. Don't leave me with strangers. B. I love you. C. God is love D. Use the needle."
