Not as good as others, but still good.
I was a little worried about this book when I first began to read but I was rather surprised as I dove in further. The stories are fun and surprising in this volume and I can't wait to begin the next volume!!!!
I'm not very elequent in my writing. I can just tell you what I like! (Or don't like) I thought the story, overall, was good. It was very unique. I'm not sure I liked the fact that Jack was the narrator. These days I ingest most of my books via audiobook so for me the narrating was even bigger of a deal. The only other critique I have is this: I do not like the fact that the mother put her son in a complete fantasy world. I know that it was probably a coping mechanism for her but if the child was born and raised in the "room" then he would know nothing else and would not find it strange to do so. In putting him in this fantasy world she completely gave up all hope of ever getting out of there. She did not prepare him for a life outside of room. I'd also like to see a sequel. What happened after the initial rescue, shock of the real world and once the attention to them was gone?
