An autobiography of acclaimed bird photographer, G. Ronald Austing.
An intriguing story of a boy named Rigg who is a trapper, but after the death of his father (happens in first chapter, so not really a spoiler), learns that his life's journey is much more than he thought at first. I really enjoyed the "pathfinder" descriptions--they were by far the most compelling aspect of the story. The time travel portions started to become more clear, but were quite convoluted in the beginning. I laughed when I read the author's notes at the end where Card says that it took several drafts and several readers for him to get them cleared up for himself.
The idea of this book intrigued me but I couldn't stick with the story. Kept on falling asleep!
Wanted more stories about Lay-me-down. Who wants to read about people? JK. Wished there was more about horses and less about book reading.
