I love the short story collections. This, however, was one of the more predictable stories I've read of hers.
So far I enjoyed this book more than Twilight. New Moon continues the saga of Bella and the Cullin Family. However, in this book, Edward and his family leave Bella rather abruptly causing Bella months of anguish. After some time, Bella starts to hang out with young Jacob and reclaims her human existance. Unfortunately, Bella attracks more trouble than she is worth and learns that young Jacob is a hunter of vampires in the most bizzare sort of way. And the story picks up from there... It was a relief that Bella lost some of her annoying habits of falling down or being klutzy, however, she picked up a new habit - stupidity. I liked the klutzy better. I teetered between 3 and 4 stars on this book. The book was entertaining, but still annoying. I couldn't help but think that 20 years of maturity and experience have warped my idea of an 18 year old, but when a referrence was made again to Romeo and Juliet, it occurred to me that I wasn't like this at 16, 18 nor at any other point in my early life. For me, this is why Bella is annoying to me. 11/24/09 Re-read this book after seeing the movie because now the movie bugged me. However, after re-reading the book, I think Hollywood did a great job at following the story line. I think I enjoyed this book more the 2nd time around and had a little better understanding of Bella, Edward, and Jacob's characters. Moving to 5 stars.
